poetry 12-30 H-hot

steam rises, wafting
breathe deeply, anticipate
imminent delight

draw in magic scent
eyes closed, hands around warm mug
tongue inches forward

gentle contact made
slurpy sip slowly consumed
palate meets pleasure

morning medicine
I am revived and ready
coffee, hot and black
